Why batch documentation matters
In research, reproducibility depends on knowing the identity and characteristics of the materials used. Batch-level documentation allows researchers to associate a specific result with a specific lot of material.
Common analytical methods
Analytical documentation for peptides commonly references methods such as the following. The methods used for any specific batch will be stated on that batch’s document.
- High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), used to separate components in a sample.
- Mass spectrometry (MS), used to help confirm molecular identity.
- Visual and physical inspection of appearance and packaging integrity.
How to read a Certificate of Analysis
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) typically identifies the product, batch or lot number, test date, methods used, and reported results. Always match the batch number on the document with the batch number on your product label.
Availability
Documentation is published for qualifying products and batches where available. If you cannot locate documentation for a batch you received, please contact our support team with your order number and batch number.
